How You Can Prepare For The New Year Starting TODAY

Are you ready to step into the New Year and the next era of your life? Do you have big ambitions that you’d like to keep in the New Year? Let’s start preparing for them TODAY so that we’re fully prepared when the big day arrives.

The arrival of a New Year and a new era in our lives is certainly exciting. Especially if you’re the type of person who sets New Year’s resolutions and intentions for the coming year. That said, when you have such big ambitions for the New Year, you certainly want to prepare before January 1st arrives. Because not only do you want to step into the next chapter of your life ready, but do you really want to wait for New Year’s Day? Let’s be honest, most of us are already excited to begin preparing for the year ahead. So let’s do just that, whether it’s December, November, or even August. Because honestly, it’s the early prep that will truly set us up for success.

Let’s start getting ourselves ready for the New Year starting today! That way, we can make sure that no stone has been left unturned as we head into the next year. And we can mentally, emotionally, and practically prepare ourselves for who we’re becoming in the New Year. And we can go into the New Year with a proper plan and a foundation. Rather than a general New Year’s resolution without a strong plan. Or even a goal that doesn’t truly resonate with us. Because honestly? Some New Year’s need to be dropped before January 1st even arrives, and need to be filtered out through our preparatory work.

Heck, you might even already have one in mind that you’re already not that excited to prepare for. And you know what? You can give yourself full permission to drop that one before you even begin to prepare for the New Year.

Refine and Update Your Daily Routines

Whether you’re looking to completely change your routine for the New Year or update and refine your current routine, now is the time to do it. And honestly, this period at the end of the year is the perfect time to look at what is and isn’t working for you in your life. Because honestly? Even if your morning routine was perfect for you back in January, it doesn’t mean that your needs haven’t shifted. The same goes for your evening routine and every other part of your day. If something in your routine feels stagnant or doesn’t resonate with you anymore, it’s time for a refresh. And giving your routine a refresh is a great way to prepare for the New Year.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be a major change, either, my lovely. Sometimes all we need to do is switch things up a little bit. Maybe we simply want to start going to bed half an hour earlier than we’ve been, and start shifting our routine for an earlier bedtime. Or maybe we want to start reading a few pages from a book in the morning instead of watching YouTube videos. You may even feel the desire to slow down your workout routine and move intentionally rather than going through the motions.

Or maybe, you’re going through a major transformation as we head into the New Year, and it’s time for a major change-up. And if that’s the case, it’s time to prepare your new routine for the New Year. That way, you’re able to give it a good test run, adapt it as needed, and start transitioning into the next era of your life. Because honestly, you’re already ready to make the transition.

Plan Out Your Biggest Goals and Resolutions

Whether you’re looking to start a business, make a major lifestyle change, or do something extra special in the New Year, now is the time to properly plan and prepare for it. Especially if it’s something genuinely important to you. Because honestly, the problem with most New Year’s resolutions is that they’re often just statements without solid plans. Even if they’re fueled by passion and a true desire for change or action. So, before the New Year arrives, take some time to sit down and properly plan out those resolutions. As well as why you’re looking to make those resolutions for the New Year in the first place.

Seriously, why do you want to start that business this year? Why do you want to make that big lifestyle change? Why do you want to do that thing this year? The true why is your starting point that helps you start planning the how with true passion. How are you going to start that business? What steps do you need to take before, during, and after you launch? How are you going to implement that lifestyle change into your daily routine? What is that lifestyle change going to look like for you? How are you going to make that dream happen this year? Sit down and plan it, my lovely. Find resources to guide you on your journey. And make it a real plan. Even if it’s imperfect.

And honestly? If you’re struggling to even sit down and plan for your resolution, is it really something you want to carry into January 1st? Especially if you’re struggling to even think of a solid why. This is a great time to give yourself permission to stop before you start something that doesn’t even spark joy for you.

Declutter Your Life

As we step into the person that we’re becoming in the New Year, and start building the lives that we’re dreaming of, we also have to let go of what is no longer serving us. Because honestly, it can be hard to move forward when we’re still carrying burdens that are no longer ours to carry. And we certainly wouldn’t want old patterns or routines to hinder our growth in the New Year. Honestly, we wouldn’t want to allow any old mental, emotional, spiritual, or physical clutter to hold us back as we step into our next era. Needless to say, to prepare for the New Year, we should take stock of what we need to declutter from our lives. And release all of it.

Whether it be physical clutter, such as those once-loved fashion pieces that you haven’t worn in years, or mental or emotional clutter, it’s time to let it go, my lovely. Don’t let toxic or one-sided relationships and friendships follow you into the New Year. Put an end to them now, and don’t look back. Start taking steps to remove yourself from any environment that’s draining your energy and dimming your light. Stop trying to force yourself into a life that you’re not aligned with. And while you’re at it, it’s also time to forgive yourself for your past mistakes and let go of any limiting beliefs that you may have about your potential. Whatever is holding you back, it’s time to let it go.

The person that you’re becoming doesn’t need any of it. So drop it off before you even get to the door on December 31st.

Strengthen Your Boundaries Wherever Needed

Far too many of us are guilty of overextending ourselves for the sake of others, or even straight-up allowing ourselves to be disrespected. We allow our boundaries to be crossed too often for the sake of others, to our detriment. Heck, sometimes we’re the ones mistreating ourselves, draining our own energy, and crossing our own boundaries. And it seriously needs to stop as we head into the New Year. It’s time for us to take stock of what’s draining our energy, dimming our light, and straight-up hurting us and lay down some firm boundaries.

Because honestly? Nothing is worth dulling your sparkle for. Nor is anything worth the drain on your soul when it’s out of alignment with you.

It’s time to start saying NO when you don’t absolutely want to say yes. It’s time to stop allowing others to constantly make you feel uncomfortable, mistreat you, or use you as the punchline for their hurtful jokes. Seriously, it’s time to stop taking any amount of nonsense from anyone. This includes yourself, my lovely. So stop with the negative self-talk, not adhering to your routine, and allowing bad habits to creep back in. And, please, stop breaking your own heart by looking at what your ex-partner or former friend is doing on Instagram.

Tighten up those boundaries, my lovely. Not because you don’t care about others, but because you love yourself enough to respect your time and energy. And remember, you can’t pour from an empty vessel. And having firm and clear boundaries is how you prevent your cup from being drained entirely. So let’s prepare for the New Year by unapologetically tightening our boundaries. Or by establishing them if you don’t have them already. Because, my lovely, you need to have boundaries to protect your time, energy, and peace.

Start Practicing More Positive Self-Talk and Affirming Yourself

If you’re guilty of speaking negatively about yourself or doubting yourself, that nonsense needs to stop immediately. You are more than worthy of the best, and your potential is infinite. So start speaking to yourself like it, my lovely. Start hyping yourself up, unapologetically giving yourself compliments, and affirming your potential. Speak to yourself the way that you would speak to someone you care about, instead of bullying yourself. Honestly, I highly recommend getting into the mindset of a lifestyle coach and speaking to yourself as if you’re your own client. Because honestly, all of us coaches need to be our own first client.

That said, I know that it can feel awkward to hype yourself up and say affirmations at first. Especially if you’re so accustomed to negative self-talk and limiting beliefs. And you know what? That’s the exact reason that you need to do so, and do so out loud. Because the louder your subconscious hears you affirming your confidence and your alignment with abundance, the more it starts to reflect all of it back to you. It’s actually quite a simple hack for shifting your mindset and elevating your whole lifestyle. Plus, it feels amazing to say something kind and affirming about yourself. Especially once you start genuinely believing it.

And yes, you will start to believe in your potential and see abundance flowing to you. So you might as well prepare yourself to feel more confident, aligned, and abundant in the New Year.

Start Your Resolutions NOW — Don’t Wait Until January 1st

When you want something badly enough, why wait until New Year’s Day to get yourself started? Especially when there are more reasons to start early on your New Year’s resolutions than there are to wait. After all, starting not allows you to build momentum and adjust your plans before January 1st even arrives. It also takes the pressure off of trying to have it all figured out on January 1st. Plus, it puts you far ahead of the curve, regardless of whether you start in September or December. Because honestly, most people wouldn’t think to start their New Year’s resolutions in the “ber” months. Even if you start in late December, you’re still ahead.

Let yourself ease into the next chapter of your life. Rather than forcing yourself to go from 0 to 100 on January 1st. And honestly? You never know what amazing opportunities may arise because you started early. You just might get your first customer or partnership before the year even ends, because you didn’t wait until January for your brand launch. Or you might find you have more energy for the holiday season because you started consistently moving your body in November. Plus, the way is clear in the last few months of the year. So claim your next era now!

Conclusion

It’s wonderful and exciting to dream of the person that we’re becoming in the New Year. And honestly, the next era of our lives is too exciting not to start planning and preparing for before New Year’s Day arrives. Especially when we have such big ambitions for the year ahead. Certainly, we want to be going into the New Year feeling fully refreshed and with clarity on what we want the next 365 days to look like. Heck, oftentimes, our goals and dreams are too exciting to wait for. No one ever said you can’t start before January 1st. And quite honestly, you should.
